Barbara Jean (Trullender) Russell

Barbara Jean Russell (Trullender), age 77, of Salem, New Jersey passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 26th 2023.  Born August 26th 1945, she was the daughter of Phyllis T. Darling and her Stepfather, Frank Darling.  Barbara was a 1963 graduate of Salem High School and attended Goldey-Beacom College. She graduated from Goldey Beacom in 1965 with an Associate Degree in Secretarial Science. Barbara held a couple of positions before starting her career with PSE&G from where she retired. 

She is survived by her best friend/husband of 54 years, Steven J. Russell Sr.; two sons, Steven Jr. and Jeffrey; her daughter, Jenna and her husband, George J. Lehman III; four grandchildren, Brandon and Johnathan Lehman, Chase and Elizabeth Russell; her brother-in-law, Mark Russell, his wife Lori, two nephews, Alex and Eric Russell and a niece, Kari (Marshall) Crawford. Barbara and Steve were High School sweethearts. They enjoyed racing her Oldsmobile 442 around town and at Cecil County Dragway. Barbara moved to Gaum in 1969 to support her husband while he served in the United States Air Force. Not quite done with racing, she was a Scorer for the APBA, while they traveled the circuit. Once they decided to slow down, she enjoyed camping, going to the beach in Sea Isle City and time spent traveling to Walt Disney World with her grandchildren. Barbara loved having the family together for special occasions and holidays. She loved time spent cooking and baking for the family. 

Services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, February 3rd in WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem Quinton Rd., Salem, NJ 08079 (Quinton Twp.) where family and friends may visit from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Lawnside Cemetery, Pilesgrove.
