Alvin "Junnie" R. Myers, Jr., age 90 formerly of Alloway passed away Tuesday, March 10th in the New Jersey Veteran's Memorial Home, Vineland.
Born in Alloway, he was the son of the late Alvin R., Sr. and Norma Bliss Myers. Junnie was an insurance agent for Metropolitan Life. He was a US Army Veteran serving as a sergeant in the Korean Conflict. Junnie was a member of the Alloway Twp. Veteran's Association, the Alloway Ruritans, the Alloway Twp.. Youth League, the Alloway Fire Co. where he served as a past chief and he was an original member of the Alloway Ambulance Corp. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Junnie is survived by his sons, Bruce Myers (Debbie) of Oakland, NJ and Brian Myers (Kathy) of Middletown, DE; his grandchildren, Meghan, Rebecca, Emily, Brett, Joshua, Mackenzie, Jax and Andrew; great-grandchildren, Logan, Cole and Ryleigh. He is predeceased by his wife, Louise.
Services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, March 16th in WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem-Quinton Rd., RT. 49, Quinton Twp. where friends may call after 10:00 AM. Burial will be in the Salem County Veteran's Cemetery, Pilesgrove. Contributions in Junnie's memory may be sent to the New Jersey Veteran's Memorial Home, 524 N.W. Bvld., Vineland, NJ 08360.
