Almedia Wentzell, age 95, passed away peacefully at her home January 13, 2021.
Born in Acme, West Virginia, she was the daughter of John Gaw and Frieda Zornes. She was raised in High Coal, West Virginia, where she helped her mother run a boarding home for coal miners. She also enjoyed working in the Company Store. After moving to New Jersey, she was employed at Anchor Hocking Glass Factory for thirty years. She enjoyed cooking and baking and the love of her life was her family.
She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Norman Wentzell, sons Joseph Wentzell and Charles Frederick Coiner and her parents. Survived by her twins, Shirley Wentzell of Salem and Sharleen Wentzell Elwell (Rich) of Greenwich and Daughter-in-Law JoAnn Wentzell of Vineland; Grandchildren, Richard Elwell Jr. (Karen), Daniel Elwell (Bobbi), Matthew Elwell (Melissa), Ann-Marie Rivas (Manny) and Joseph Wentzell; Great-Grandchildren, Ashleigh Norton (Matt), Katelin Elwell, Carleen Elwell, Peyton Elwell, Kayden Elwell, Lee Elwell, Kendra Stipes, Anthony Carastro, and Michael Carastro.
Service will be held Tuesday, January 19 th , at 11:00 am at Woodside Funeral Home, 613 Salem-Quinton Rd, Salem, NJ where friends may call at 10:00 am. Burial following the service at East View Cemetery.
