Wayne L. Heil, 84, of Alloway, died peacefully in his home with his family by his side on Monday, March 19, 2018.
He was a hard working man that was loved, is missed, and will always be remembered for doing things right. He was called “Dad”, “Pop-Pop”, “Honey”, and “Grand Pop”. Wayne was born on Dec. 2, 1933 and graduated from Woodstown High School in 1953 and married Claire Johnson of Bridgeton, NJ on Nov. 11, 1956. They were married for 61 years. Wayne was the third of five children of Victor and Anna (Roork) Heil of Alloway, NJ. He began a career at DuPont Chambers Works in Deepwater, NJ in 1955 and built a home with his brother Richard and friends on his father’s farm in 1956. He served in the Military from 1956-1958. After his Military duty, he resumed his 37 year career at the DuPont Chambers Works. Wayne retired from DuPont in 1992 and became a licensed realtor. He was active in Ruritan for over 50 years. He and his wife Claire loved Ocean City, NJ and they purchased a vacation home there in 1988. Wayne is survived by his wife Claire, his two children, Dawn Heil and Brian Heil, Dawn’s partner Phil Cifford, Brian’s wife Nathalie (Canque) Heil, grandchildren Emilie Heil, Julie Heil, Kyle Loveland, sister Elva Stites, and brother Victor Heil. He is predeceased by his elder brother Richard Heil and his younger sister Carla Pittman.
Memorial services will be held at Woodside Funeral Home at 613 Salem-Quinton Road (Rte 49), Quinton Twp. on Friday, March 23 at 11 AM. Friends and family may call between 10:30 AM-11:00 AM. Burial will take in Aldine United Methodist Cemetery.
