Thomas H. Simpkins, age 71 of Lower Alloway's Creek passed away Friday in the Memorial Hospital of Salem County. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Harold and Kathryn Westcott Simpkins. Before his retirement, Tom was a mechanic at the Deepwater Operating Co. in Pennsville. He was a member of Washington Fire Co. No. 3 of Salem, Elsinboro Fire Co., LAC Ambulance, Eagles' Lodge No. 1966 and the Walnut Street First United Methodist of Salem. Tom is survived by his son, Keith Simpkins (Chrissy) of Bear, DE; his daughter, Kristi Hunter (Curt) of Salem; brother, Ted Simpkins of Elsinboro; sisters, Susan Powell of Pedricktown and Betty Griscom (Joe) of Pilesgrove; and his grandchildren, Emily Pew, Jared Pew and Elizabeth Simpkins.

Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, Nov. 29th in WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem-Quinton Rd., Rt. 49, Quinton Twp. where friends may call after 10:00 AM and also Tuesday evening, Nov. 28th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hancock's Bridge United Methodist Cemetery. Contributions in his memory may be sent to Washington Fire Co.
