Loretta J. McConnaughey, age 86, of Mannington passed away Saturday, May 25th in the Cooper University Medical Center, Camden.
Born in Washington Courthouse, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Alva Hatfield and Olive Henry. Before her retirement, Loretta was employed by the Leesburg Regional Medical Center, FL as a registered nurse. She enjoyed singing in the Walnut Street United Methodist Church choir, writing poems and stories and doing needle work. Loretta was a published author, appearing in the nursing magazine, Point of View. She is survived by her sons, Gary McConnaughey (Lena) of Pennsville and Steven McConnaughey (Beverly) of Hagerstown, MD; her daughter, Lyn McConnaughey of Mannington; 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Loretta is predeceased by husband, Willard Allen McConnaughey.
Graveside Services will be held 11:00 AM Sunday, June 9th in the Salem County Veteran's Cemetery, Pilesgrove. Contributions in Loretta's memory may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
