Dr. Willetta "Willie" Mulhorn, age 79, of Cape May County, NJ, and Chilton County, AL, went to be with Jesus on June 21, 2017, at home in North Wildwood, NJ, surrounded by family. Born in Greensburg, PA, to the late Mr. and Mrs. John and Willetta (Webb) Love. Dr. Mulhorn was a graduate of East Huntington High School in Westmoreland County, PA, and Indiana State Teachers College; she later earned a master's degree in student personnel services from Glassboro State Teachers College (now Rowan University) and a doctorate of education from Temple University. Dr. Willetta Mulhorn taught high school mathematics and held administrative posts in the Woodstown-Pilesgrove Regional School District before becoming Salem County Superintendent of Schools. As superintendent, her leadership made positive educational change for the students of Salem County. She chaired a countywide task force investigating the needs of disabled school-age children. This effort culminated in the formation of the Special Services School District which continues to serve the needs of special needs children. Dr. Mulhorn played a key role in the establishment of the Educators and DuPont: Partners in Science. As county superintendent, she served on the Salem Community College Board of Trustees. While a Salem County resident, Dr. Mulhorn was president of the Literacy Volunteers Board of Directors, chaired the Healthy Heart Coalition, and served on the American Cancer Society board. She was involved in forming a chapter of the American Heart Association and was instrumental in starting Salem County 2000. She also served on the Division of Youth and Family Services advisory board and the Youth Services Commission. After her retirement from public education, Dr. Mulhorn returned to Salem Community College as interim president and served in that capacity for one year. Willetta Mulhorn was a devoted member of Clanton United Methodst Church and was certified as a lay speaker for the United Methodist Church. Dr. Mulhorn and her husband Roy live in Clanton, Alabama, and enjoy summers in North Wildwood, NJ. They have three children and ten grandchildren. Willetta is survived by her husband of 58 years, Roy Mulhorn, her daughters, Constance McAllister (Joseph McAllister) and Karen Mulhorn Smith; son, John Royal Mulhorn (Tatiana); her grandchildren, Jordan, Joseph, and Jacqueline McAllister; Alexandra, Samantha, and Sydney Smith; and Erica, Chloe, Riley, and Ryann Mulhorn. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Shirley Troeger.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 24th at WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, Route 49, 613 Salem-Quinton Rd., Quinton. Viewings will be held at WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME in Quinton on Friday evening, June 23, from 6 to 8 pm and on Saturday morning from 10 am until the time of service. Burial will take place at Aldine United Methodist Church, 780 Friesburg-Aldine Rd., Elmer, NJ 08318 immediately following the funeral service.
