Dean D Chambers

Dean D. Chambers, age 74, of Elsinboro, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 8th 2018 while a patient at Heartland Hospice Care in Wilmington, DE.

Upon graduation from Salem High School in 1964, Dean served in the U.S. Army for two years; after which, he was employed by DuPont Chambers Works for 30 years.  During his retirement he enjoyed golfing with his Wild Oaks buddies, working out at the Salem Community Center with his Aldine hotties, gardening, fun times with family and friends and his special bond with granddaughters, Megan and Erin.  Dean is preceded in death by his parents, Bernice and Harry Chambers; beloved son, Ryan; sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Dick Winstel; sisters-in-law, Irene Emel and Sonja McCarthy; brothers-in-law, Justin McCarthy, Donald Emel and Bill Blackwell.  Dean is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Ellen (McCarthy); daughter, Claudine and son-in-law, John Pankok, granddaughters, Megan and Erin of Salem; brother, Bill (Delores) of Elkton, MD; sister, Dian Bowers (Ted) of Little Rock, AR; brothers-in-law, Tommy McCarthy of Salem and Charles (Sherry) McCarthy of Henderson, NV;
sisters-in-laws, Alicia Blackwell of Middletown, DE and Margaret McCarthy of Scottsdale, AZ; many beloved nieces and nephews. 

A memorial celebration of Dean's life will be held 12:00 noon, Saturday, April 21st 2018 in WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem-Quinton Rd., Rt. 49, Quinton Twp. where friends may visit from 10:00 to 12:00 noon.  Burial will be held at a later date at the Salem County Veteran's Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dean's name to  Saint Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 350 Georgetown Rd., Carneys Point, NJ 08069, to the Lighthouse Ministry Inc., 88 Market St., Salem, NJ 08079 or the Heartand Hospice, 5661 Ocheltree Land, Wilmington, DE 19808.
