Josephine "JoJo" Fithian, 98, of Salem, NJ, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017. Daughter of Joseph and Vesta Smith, Jo was born in S. Dennis Township, Cape May, NJ. She graduated from Salem High School in 1936. Jo worked in the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union. After retirement she took Cosmetology at the Salem County Vocational Technical School in 1989, where she graduated with the highest level of achievement. She attended SCVTS again for Culinary Arts in 1991, where she later retired as part of their food staff. She is predeceased by her husband, John Fithian; siblings, Georgeanna Smith, Joseph Smith, and Ethlynde Cocking. Josephine survived by her sisters, Dorothy Guidry of Houma, LA and Hazel Harris of PA; daughters, Jane Fithian of Portsmouth, NH and Rebecca McAllister (Michael) of Salem, NJ; and grandchildren Rene, Amber, John, and James. 

A casual walk-through memorial will be held 9 AM to 11 AM Saturday, August 12, 2017 in WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 34 Oak St, Salem, NJ. Interment will be private.
