Howard James "Jim" Hopkins, Jr., age 86, of Canton passed away Friday, August 25th at his home. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Howard James and Anna Ewan Hopkins, Sr. Mr. Hopkins was a US Air Force veteran. Before retiring, Jim owned and operated Hopkins' Rug and Furniture Cleaning and he also worked as a supervisor for the Delaware River Bay Authority. Jim was past master of the Excelsior Lodge No. 54 Free and Accepted Masons. He enjoyed playing the harmonica, and riding motorcycles and Jim loved to travel, especially going on cruises. Jim is survived by his wife, Ruth Farrall Hopkins; his daughter, Kim Baker (Steve) of Pedricktown; his granddaughter, Marisa Hee Jin Baker; step-children, John Maier III, Kelly Piel (John), Jeff Maier and Vicki Rydlewski (Joe); grandchildren, Lisa, Jason, Sarah, Michael and Andrew; and great grandchildren, Mark and Cameron. He is predeceased by his first wife, Mildred Parkell Hopkins; and his grandson, Brandon Jae Kwan Baker.

Graveside Service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 30th in Canton Baptist Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 2nd at the New Hope Presbyterian Church, 65 Hitchner Ave, Hopewell Twp, NJ followed by a luncheon.
