Charles "Butch" Newsome, age 74, of Salem passed away Friday, April 14th in Jefferson University Hospital of Philadelphia. Born in Glassboro, he was the son of the late Charles M. and Helen Turner Newsome. Before his retirement Butch was the paymaster for Anchor Glass of Salem. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Butch is survived by his brother, Roland Ridley of Westville; and his sisters, Arlene Newsome and Sandra Newsome of Salem. He is predeceased by his stepfather, Roland Ridley. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, April 21st in WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 34 Oak Street, Salem where friends may call after 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
